The Veterans History Project is an effort by the Library of Congress to preserve the historic experiences of those who served in the military by recording their personal narratives. “The men and women who bravely served our country have compelling stories to tell about their service,” said Donnelly. “It’s important we record their statements so that future generations have the opportunity to hear their experiences and sacrifices.” Donnelly staff and volunteers will be present to interview veterans. Area veterans are encouraged to attend to have their stories recorded. Individuals in the community who would like to volunteer to interview the veterans are also welcome. If possible, volunteers should bring a recording device.
