Donnelly reintroduced this bipartisan legislation in the Senate in August with Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Gary Peters (D-MI). The legislation would protect the ability of manufactured home customers to buy, sell, and refinance homes, while maintaining important consumer protections. Recent bipartisan regulatory reform legislation that Donnelly helped craft and introduce also includes a provision based on Donnelly’s Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act. The regulatory relief package is scheduled to be marked up in the Senate Banking Committee, on which Donnelly serves, next Tuesday. Donnelly said, “I’m pleased this bipartisan legislation has passed the House. For many hard-working Hoosier families, manufactured housing provides the most affordable option available when they look to buy a home.
