Susan Couk, a Lafayette resident, needed assistance in replacing medals for her brother’s service in the Air Force. Susan wanted to have the medals replaced so her brother, Otis Walter Stair, who served in Thailand during the Vietnam War as an air traffic controller, could have the medals he earned during his service. Susan contacted Donnelly’s office to secure her brother’s lost medals. Donnelly’s office reached out to the National Personnel Records Center to obtain a replacement set of all of Otis’ military medals. Within a month, Susan had her brother’s medals in hand, including Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
