They discussed national security policies, public service and leadership as well as how we can help ensure our servicemembers are supported and our armed forces are the strongest they can be. It was a pleasure to speak with these national security fellows about so many important issues that our military and our nation face today, said Duckworth. From working on the health of the all-volunteer force to encouraging public service to shoring up democratic principles at home, there is so much more we must do to support our troops and strengthen our country. The passion and commitment I saw from these fellows today gives me hope for what we can accomplish, and I won't stop working to better the lives of those who serve. The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs is Harvard Kennedy School's center for research, teaching and training covering issues including international security and diplomacy, environmental and resource issues and science and technology policy.
