Col. Jason Anderson as an expert witness today during a Senate Small Business Committee roundtable. The discussion focused on what the Small Business Administration (SBA) is currently doing to assist veterans in making their entrepreneurial dreams come true. Anderson spoke about his experiences with the SBA and the best practices he learned to help other active-duty service members navigate their own business goals.  Anderson is the author of the book “Active-Duty Entrepreneur”, which discusses the importance of getting active-duty military personnel to start thinking about their business goals well in advance of their military separation or retirement. “Jason has set up and launched his own business before his military retirement – I can’t think of anyone better to give us insight into ways we can better equip those who so selflessly and faithfully serve our country to succeed once they leave the military than someone who has gone through this process himself,” said Enzi, “By working on these goals while still in the military ecosystem that provides a stable job, pay, health care, and a predictable career timeline, military personnel can create their own smooth transition in a low-risk environment.” Anderson is currently serving at the Pentagon, but spoke at the hearing as a civilian author and entrepreneur, and will be returning to Jackson with his wife and family after his June 2014 retirement.
