https://www.enzi.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=9fbd1ca6-6c4f-4955-86b4-925bd5dbc799 Senate committee passes bipartisan regulatory reform bills 2015-10-07 2015 2015-10 Republican House WY Michael Enzi E000285 www.enzi.senate.gov     legacy U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted on a bipartisan basis today to approve four bills that reform the regulatory process. The bills would increase accountability and improve the regulatory process. Taken together, these bills would address gaps among agencies in the requirement to do cost-benefit and other analyses and to build automatic lookback procedures so that regulations are reviewed after several years. The reforms address deficiencies in the rulemaking process by improving the quality of regulatory analysis, making analysis requirements more uniform across all agencies, and codifying smart regulation principles that have been supported by Democratic and Republican administrations for over two decades. There is no doubt that people in Wyoming and across the country are frustrated by the regulatory burden imposed on them from Washington, Enzi said. These bills may just be the first steps in a long list of needed reforms to inject common sense into how regulations are developed, but the bipartisan cooperation and support we saw today is a good sign of the progress that we can make if we continue to work together. The committee also approved seven other bills unanimously, including the Fair Chance Act, legislation that would give an opportunity to formerly incarcerated individuals to have a fair chance at employment. Also approved was legislation to reduce government waste, increase accountability and help protect the nations borders. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
