She released the following statement regarding her vote: For many years now, ObamaCare has caused financial hardship and uncertainty for families across Nebraska. Millions of Americans are forced to have plans that are more expensive with higher premiums and ever-increasing deductibles. Today, the Senate took action and I was proud to vote for ObamaCares repeal something I have advocated for since running for this office. I remain committed to promoting policies that will reduce costs and improve care. We must continue to help Nebraska families, and the millions of Americans who are still struggling to find affordable access to quality health care. The ObamaCare repeal bill eliminates more than $1 trillion in tax increases and would save more than $500 billion in federal spending. For years, Nebraskans have witnessed the devastating effects of this unworkable law and nearly 20,000 Nebraskans have contacted Senator Fischers office to express their concerns with higher costs and fewer choices. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), ObamaCare will cost Nebraska taxpayers more than $582 million over the next ten years. This translates to an average increase of $843 per Nebraska household each year. Well before the passage of ObamaCare, Americas health-care system faced serious challenges. Senator Fischer believes solving these problems requires common-sense reforms. Thats why she support policies to strengthen and improve our nations health-care system, including: Repealing the individual and employer mandate Returning the definition of full-time employment to 40 hours Returning regulatory control over health insurance to the states Allowing the purchase of health insurance across state lines Enacting medical malpractice reform Maintaining protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions Click here to view Senator Fischers remarks on this bill from Wednesday. # # # 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
