I appreciate Administrator Pruitts continued commitment to rural America. This final rule will spur investment in Americans who feed the world and provide renewable solutions for our nations energy needs. Under the final rule, the EPA set the total renewable fuel volume mandate at 19.29 billion gallons. This includes 15 billion gallons of conventional biofuel and 4.29 billion gallons of advanced biofuel. Nebraska is the second largest ethanol producing state in the nation. The state has 25 ethanol plants that have the capacity to produce more than 2 billion gallons annually.
