The Department of Energy's research programs have helped make the United Statesa world leader in science and technology,said Senator Gardner. This funding will help researchers at the Colorado School of Mines develop lower-cost and safer fusion energy technology and help ensure Colorado remains on the cutting-edge of research and development. Gardner has championed ARPA-E funding in the U.S. Senate and helped pass arecord fundinglevel of $425 million in 2019's year-end spending package. ARPA-E focuses its funding streams on research and development projects to advance high-potential, high-impact energy technologies.
