Today U.S. Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) celebrated the announcement that four public housing authorities in Colorado will receive a combined $9,031,044 in Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Many Colorado families are struggling with housing right now as a result of this pandemic and we must ensure relief is reaching those in need,said Senator Gardner.This funding announcement is welcome news and I will continue working with state, local, and federal level officials to ensure Coloradans are receiving the support they need to get through COVID-19. This funding is made available by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and is in addition to the more than$500,000, the$2.8 million, and more than$5.6 millionthat Gardner announced Colorado received from HUD in August,$44 millionColorado received from HUD in June, the$2.4 millionand$12.7 millionColorado received from HUD in May, and the$4.4 million,$4.3 million, and$34 millionColorado received from HUD in April.
