Examples of Senator Gardner's conservation record include: Helped establish, and serves as co-chair of, theRoosevelt Conservation Caucus, a bicameral group focused on addressing environmental problems through market-based solutions. Led the fight to pass and have signed in to law by President Trump earlier this year S. 47, the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act,the single biggest conservation package passed in the last decade. That package included a Gardner-sponsored bill supported by a bipartisan group of senators thatpermanently reauthorized the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Introduced S. 1081, the bipartisanLand and Water Conservation Fund Permanent Funding Act, a bill that will make the full funding of LWCF mandatory every fiscal year. Introduced a bill to create aninvestment tax credit for energy storage, which will increase the deployment of storage technology as it comes online. Introduced S.607, theTimely Review of Infrastructure Act, legislation aimed at reducing the long wait times for federal approval of energy infrastructure projects. Introduced S.2094, theEnhancing State Energy Security Planning and Emergency Preparedness Act, legislation that authorizes the Department of Energy (DOE) to provide financial assistance to states to develop or revise a State Energy Security Plan. Introduced S.3677, theEnhancing Grid Security through Public-Private Partnerships Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at safeguarding the country's energy grid from cyber-attacks. Co-sponsored S.1685, theLaunching Energy Advancement and Development through Innovations for Natural Gas Act, which would incentivize research and development of carbon capture technology for natural gas to ensure a reliable, affordable, and environmentally sound energy supply.
