I'm thrilled Alamosa Airport can continue to provide commercial service to the rural Coloradans who rely on it, said Gardner. I was an outspoken advocate on behalf of the region and Alamosa Airport in its pursuit of the waiver, and today I welcome the Department of Transportation's announcement that it granted its waiver for Essential Air Services. In September, Gardner sent a letter to DOT Secretary Anthony Foxx requesting the DOT give full and fair consideration to Alamosa Airport's petition for a waiver from the Essential Air Services program's subsidy-per-passenger cap. ### Cory Gardner is a member of the U.S. Senate serving Colorado. He sits on the Energy & Natural Resources Committee, the Foreign Relations Committee, the Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee, and the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, and is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy. 354 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20515 (202) 224-5941 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
