Security Council's approval of new sanctions on North Korea aimed at reducing the regime's exports: I welcome the U.N. Security Council's approval of tougher sanctions on North Korea, said Gardner. I'm hopeful that the U.N. will fully enforce these sanctions, which are designed to slash North Korea's export-generated revenue. At the same time, I encourage the U.N. to pursue aggressive sanctions that address North Korea's increasingly belligerent behavior, particularly its malicious cyber activities and gross human rights abuses. We know that North Korea's cyber capabilities are intensifying, and a new report revealed that the regime not only maintains its political prison camps, but may be expanding them. That's why it is essential that the U.N. continues to ratchet up pressure on Pyongyang while also fully implementing its previous actions against the regime.
