Anamosa’s Chuck and Carol Bildstein founded the non-profit to provide financial and emotional support to adoptive families. “I was honored to nominate Chuck and Carol for their work to carry out their daughter’s final wish. This family has changed countless lives for children and parents,” Grassley said. “Chelsey’s Dream Foundation is highly deserving of the 2024 Angels in Adoption award, and I look forward to seeing its many accomplishments still to come.” Chelsey’s Dream Foundation is named after Chuck and Carol’s daughter, who passed away from cancer in 2014. Chelsey lived a generous life; her dream was to help families with their adoption expenses. The Bildsteins’ Iowa-based non-profit carries out Chelsey’s aspirations and champions her legacy. It manages fundraisers and grants, pairs families with donors and engages with like-minded organizations. Background: The Angels in Adoption Program recognizes individuals for their contributions to adoption, foster care and child welfare. CCAI invites Angel honorees to Washington to celebrate their efforts, participate in advocacy training and share their experiences with congressional representatives. Grassley was named a member of the Advisory Council of the CCAI in 2015 and is a longtime advocate for adoptive parents and children.
