That’s why Senator Cassidy and I teamed up to protect patients and ban this abusive practice. I’m glad that our legislation has prevented more than nine million surprise bills just this year, and I’ll keep working to bring down health care costs,” said Senator Hassan. Senators Hassan and Cassidy led the effort to address surprise medical billing, and at the end of 2020, passed into law the No Surprises Act.
