This day serves as a reminder that we must continue to do all that we can so that one day the families of those missing can, at the very least, find the answers and closure that they deserve. We must also remember the experiences of those who were prisoners of war – who were often subject to horrific and unimaginable conditions. Because of these heroes, our country is safer and our freedom is stronger.” Senator Hassan has worked with New Hampshire veterans to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action by ensuring that the POW/MIA flag flies at key landmarks. Following advocacy from New Hampshire veterans, Senators Hassan, Tom Cotton (R-AR), and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) led a successful bipartisan push to return the POW/MIA flag atop the White House, after it was removed during the previous administration.
