The price will be paid by the mom who can’t afford routine check-ups without her insurance and later gets diagnosed with a preventable disease. The price will be paid by the millions of Americans who, when faced with a doubling of their health insurance premiums, will have no choice but to go without health care. “Today’s vote was the best opportunity for us to extend the Affordable Care Act tax cuts that help people afford their health insurance. I have and will continue to engage in bipartisan conversations to deliver relief for our families. As always, I am willing to work with members across both sides of the aisle to lower costs for families. But between their reckless tariffs, Medicaid cuts, and now these new health care cost increases, Congressional Republicans and President Trump keep making life harder and more expensive for families at every turn.
