Senator Hawley repeatedly called out Shaw for lacking a “principle” to guide her legal opinion regarding when nationwide injunctions constitute the appropriate remedy for a legal dispute. The hearing was jointly hosted by the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and the Judiciary Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights. Earlier this year, Senator Hawley introduced legislation to end liberal judges’ serial abuse of power by banning nationwide injunctions.
