Dakotans with health insurance 2017-11-02 2017 2017-11 Democrat House ND Heidi Heitkamp H001069 www.heitkamp.senate.gov     legacy Forum News Service Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) launched a website this week with resources for North Dakotans to learn about the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and options people may have to get covered under the federal marketplace exchange. Open enrollment started Wednesday, Nov. 1 and will last through Friday, Dec. 15. “Health care open enrollment has started, and I encourage North Dakotans to use the resources on my new webpage to help answer their questions, sign up for coverage, or search for different plans,” Heitkamp said in a press release. “This year, the time frame to enroll in health insurance is a month and a half shorter with fewer federal resources available to assist folks. That’s why I’m stepping up to make sure North Dakotans can get the information and assistance they need.” Heitkamp’s website provides links to resources regarding the federal marketplace, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program and information about tax credits and lowering out-of-pocket costs. The Trump administration cut many navigator and other Obamacare outreach programs this year so fewer resources are available for potential consumers in North Dakota to get information about enrolling in an Obamacare plan. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
