https://www.heitkamp.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ContentRecord_id=1856f4ba-635f-4fe4-a1fd-7cd9f8fe6a82 Delegation Announces $3.6 Million in Grants to Expand, Renovate North Dakota Airports 2013-08-09 2013 2013-08 Democrat House ND Heidi Heitkamp H001069 www.heitkamp.senate.gov     legacy WASHINGTON – Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven and Congressman Kevin Cramer announced today that airports across North Dakota have been awarded grants totaling almost $3.6 million for airport construction and maintenance projects. “North Dakota’s airports are experiencing tremendous growth,” said the delegation. “These grants will fund construction and maintenance projects that are needed to meet the increased demand we’re seeing in airports across the state.”   The following grants were awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration: Grand Forks International Airport will receive almost $2.5 million to construct a snow removal equipment building and to renovate the runway and taxiway lighting systems.  Edgeley Municipal Airport will receive $451,800 to construct a hangar building. State of North Dakota will receive $332,379 to update the state airport system study plan to address aviation needs impacted by energy development and economic growth. Bottineau Municipal Airport will receive $150,000 to update the existing master plan with updates to the airport layout and to identify future airport needs. Stanley Municipal Airport will receive $150,000 to construct an apron to provide needed aircraft parking at the airport. Mott Municipal Airport will receive $33,750 to seal and rehabilitate the runway.  The grants were awarded by the U.S Department of Transportation with funds appropriated by Congress. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
