Investing in our transportation infrastructure will help our airports continue to safely serve passengers and grow to meet increasing demands,” said the delegation. The following grants were awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration: Grand Forks International was awarded $1.08 million to construct a snow removal equipment building and to rehabilitate the current runway lighting system. Sloulin Field International in Williston was awarded $1 million to improve runway safety, mill and overlay asphalt on a taxiway and for phase II of an airport master plan to consider a new commercial airport site to help meet aviation demand in the oil patch. Pembina Municipal Airport was awarded a grant for $156,127 to replace the airport’s rotating beacon and to fund repairs to the apron to preserve access to the airport. The airport was awarded an additional $112,930 to update the existing master plan to determine how to prevent annual flooding and help identify future airport needs. Parshall Municipal Airport Authority was awarded $96,749 to seal cracks in the pavement and for rehabilitation design for the runway. Barnes County Municipal Airport was awarded $66,864 for the design phase of a new taxiway to provide access to aircraft hangars and for rehabilitation designs for the existing apron pavement.
