U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, announced $255,502 in federal funding to provide housing assistance for families in need. These federal funds will support efforts to help families in public housing obtain the education, skills, and job training necessary to find long term solutions to lower reliance on welfare assistance. Everyone deserves the chance to live up to their potential and lead fulling lives, said Heitkamp. Support for education and job training is critical to obtain the skills necessary to find employment in our 21st century economy and these federal funds will help families find employment to meet their needs and contribute to their communities.
