These investments in the health of our communities and the education of our young people are key to ensuring a healthier community and statewide economy for years to come.” The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is providing $1,065,858 in federal support that will help promote the important work of employees at Family HealthCare, a Fargo health facility which strives to provide a multitude of quality, affordable services to families in the Fargo-Moorhead area. HHS also awarded $1,674,276 to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe for five years of Head Start programming to support the early childhood education and growth of Native young people living on the reservation. Heitkamp has long been an advocate of federal resources to promote better, more affordable access to health care services, particularly in high-need and rural areas in North Dakota, as well as strengthening educational opportunities for young people, especially Native children. This funding for the Family HealthCare Center in Fargo is made possible by the Health Resources & Services Administration within HHS, an agency dedicated to promoting better access to quality health services for underserved and high-need communities. The funding for Head Start programming on the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Reservation is made possible by the Office of Head Start of the Office of the Administration for Children and Families, an agency within HHS.
