And in the U.S. Senate, I’ll keep encouraging the Transportation Department to provide more funding for NDSU research given the university’s reputation for leadership in transportation, agriculture, and so much more.” The grant is one of 35 five-year grants awarded to advance research and education programs that address critical infrastructure challenges facing the U.S. Heitkamp has long supported North Dakota universities’ efforts to secure federal funding for their research, including urging Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx to select NDSU for federal transportation research funding in August.
