U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced more than $250,000 in federal funding to help low- and moderate- income North Dakotans in Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot increase their education and develop job skills. North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the country, but there are still 27,000 open jobs statewide, said Heitkamp. These funds are important because they give folks who are struggling to find a stable job and put a roof over their heads the opportunity to get the education and skills required to fill those jobs. These funds, authorized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will help develop a partnership between public housing agencies (PHAs) and social service agencies, community colleges, businesses, and other local partners to help PHAs residents and North Dakotans participating in HUDs Housing Choice Voucher Program obtain additional education and job skills. The grants are distributed as follows: Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority - $106,608. The Housing Authority of the City of Grand Forks - $103,514. Minot Housing Authority - $43,248. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
