These federal funds will be used to support low-income women to make sure they have the care they need both during and after pregnancy. This federal support will also provide access to preventive and follow-up care for children. No matter where you live or what your economic background, every woman deserves to have access to high quality prenatal health care, said Heitkamp. Providing this critical support for mothers during pregnancy and follow-up care for children will guard against preventable illnesses and help these children grow into strong adults.
