This is a great start, but we cannot ignore the fact that middle class Americans will still bear the burden of a 40 percent excise tax. For the next two years, we will use this victory as momentum toward fully repealing the Cadillac tax.Id like to thank my colleague Senator Martin Heinrich for his support in this endeavor. However, we both recognize there still remains much work ahead to repeal the Cadillac tax, said Senator Dean Heller. Delaying this excise tax is a victory for the middle class as we continue to fight for its full repeal.I'm proud to join Senator Heller in leading this bipartisan effort to ensure millions of middle-class families who rely on employer-based health care aren't unfairly penalized because of this tax, said Senator Martin Heinrich.Even the strongest supporters of the Affordable Care Act know it isnt perfect and that there are some parts that need to be fixed.Eliminating this onerous tax on employees health coverage will protect important benefits for workers and ensure that businesses and families get a fair deal. BACKGROUND: This will be the second time in two weeks Congress has shown strong bipartisan support for repealing or delaying this bad tax. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
