This amendment reflects the same goal asS. 2045,the Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2015, theonly bipartisan piece of legislation to fully repeal this onerous tax. Today, the Senate spoke overwhelmingly in favor of repealing the Cadillac Tax. The Cadillac Tax is causing 151 million workers nationwide to lose the health insurance they like. It is causing families to lose their doctor, costs to skyrocket, taking more money out of the hands of middle class Americans. Im proud my colleagues stood with me in a bipartisan manner to bring relief to hardworking Americans across Nevada and the rest of the country, said Senator Dean Heller. Background: In September, Senators Heller and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) introducedS. 2045, which fully repeals the Affordable Care Acts Cadillac Tax. The two Senators introduced this Senate companion to Congressman Courtneys House legislation. Beginning in 2018, the Cadillac Tax will tax employers whose health insurance plans cost more than $10,200 a year for individuals and $27,450 a year for families at 40 percent of the cost above those limits. In Nevada alone, 1.3 million workers who have employer-sponsored health insurance plans will be hit by this tax. A PDF copy of the amendment is attached. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
