Last week,the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan resolution that Heller cosponsored to recognize the work, goals, and achievements of over 490 non-profitHispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) throughout the country by designating the week of September 17-23 as "NationalHispanic-Serving Institutions Week."Defined as degree-granting institutions where totalHispanic enrollment constitutes of no less than 25% of the total enrollment, HSIs play a critical role in educatingHispanicyouth and improving the communities in which they are located. HSIs are located in 21 states and Puerto Rico with emergingHispanic-Serving Institutions located in 33 States and the District of Columbia.
