The bill will amend existing law to allow Lincoln County, Nevada to more effectively carry out conservation and land-use goals.  “The Lincoln County Land Act Amendments recognizes the importance of landscape conservation and restoration. Not only is it an example of balanced efforts to improve and protect habitat and species, it provides opportunities for Lincoln County to initiate their goals for economic development. This legislation is good for Nevada and I was proud to collaborate with Congressman Horsford on it,” said Senator Heller. “I’m pleased that this commonsense bill has bipartisan support from the Nevada delegation,” said Representative Horsford. “The Lincoln County Land bill addresses, in part, the need for Nevadans to have more control over their own resources. This legislation will give more flexibility to local officials to prioritize the needs of Lincoln County, whether it is for developing infrastructure, protecting wildlife, or reducing the risk of wildfire.” Specifically, the Lincoln County Land Act Amendments will allow existing funds in a special account to be used for species conservation and landscape restoration. Additionally, the bill will help prevent catastrophic wildfire, improve sage grouse habitat, further opportunities for economic growth, and facilitate development of designated solar energy zones. A copy of the bill, which Heller introduced in the Senate today, is below. The text of H.R. 3415, the House counterpart legislation introduced by Rep. Horsford last week, can be read online here.  ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
