Instead, he tried to suppress them until he realized Americans weren’t backing down. “Trump needs to sign this bill and release the files already.” For months the Trump administration refused to release the Epstein files after reports surfaced that Attorney General Pam Bondi told President Trump that he is named in the files and additional reporting highlights Trump’s friendship with Epstein. In February, the Attorney General touted that the files were on her desk for review. Hickenlooper has consistently advocated for the Trump admin to release the files and the House of Representatives to take up the legislation.
