Res 702, a resolution marking November as Native American Heritage Month. S. Res 702 recognizes November as National Native American Heritage Month and celebrates the heritages and cultures of Native Americans and the contributions of Native Americans to the United States. Today the Senate took action to recognize the remarkable legacies and accomplishments of Native Americans, Hoeven said. This resolution designates November as Native American Heritage Month, however it is important that we honor and respect the contributions of Tribes throughout the year. I am glad to see the Senate pass our resolution to commemorate Native American Heritage Month to recognize and celebrate the indelible mark that Native American arts, languages, cultures, and peoples have left on New Mexico and the United States, Udall said. Native communities have shaped the American experience for hundreds of years, helping to write every chapter of our nation's history.
