The funding is made available through ED's School Improvement Grant (SIG) program which awards states funds, which they can then allocate to schools in greatest need of additional funding to enhance student achievement. The successful future of our state and nation begins with our ability to provide a good education for our children, Hoeven said. Today's funds will help students by improving our schools' ability to provide a strong education. As a member of the Appropriation Committee, Hoeven works to ensure funding is available to support state efforts to improve education. Hoeven also supported the passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act, legislation that restores state and local control over education standards and included a provision based on legislation offered by Hoeven and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) to bolster Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. -###- Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
