The funding is awarded through the Tribal College Extension Program (TCEP) and Tribal College Extension-Special Emphasis Program (TCEP-SE) These USDA grants provide tribal colleges with resources to provide education and outreach programs to meet needs in their communities. That includes initiatives like community gardens and farmers markets as well as extension programs that teach nutrition, food safety and life skills, said Hoeven.
