Today's funds will help reimburse NDDES for management costs resulting from flood cleanup, repair and prevention efforts following widespread flooding in the state in 2011 and for which the President made a disaster declaration. In 2011, North Dakota faced some of the worst flooding in our state's history, Hoeven said. Today's funds will help reimburse NDDES for costs they have incurred from flood cleanup and preparation efforts. Because of these efforts, our state is increasingly safeguarded from catastrophic flooding. Through his role on the Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has worked extensively to secure funding for flood cleanup and prevention throughout North Dakota. Today's funds are part of FEMA's Public Assistance Grant Program, which provides funds to states following a Presidential disaster declaration.
