The funds are made available through the HHS National Institute of Mental Health and will support research on information retention and memory. In addition, the North Dakota State Department of Health was awarded $25,000 to develop a State Systems Development Initiative (SSDI) Grant Program to better serve women, infants, children and youth, and in particular, children and youth with special health care needs. Our universities conduct innovative and important research projects and this grant is evidence of their good work, said Hoeven. It will help to advance NDSU's study of human memory and do further research into mental health. Similarly, our health department strives to administer programs that benefit those with special health care needs, and this grant will help to support their effort.
