Through his role on the Senate Energy and Water Development Appropriations Committee, Hoeven worked with the Corps to ensure the project continued to be funded in the annual work plan and to keep it on schedule. The senator also advanced this priority with Army Corps Chief Lt. Gen. Scott Spellmon during his confirmation process in 2020.
