The measure allows the families of our men and women in uniform who died in the service of their country to contribute to the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress. The Veterans History Project preserves recordings, photographs and narratives of U.S. veterans so that future generations can hear the stories of these service members firsthand. The House passed the legislation in September, and it now goes to the president's desk for signature. At present only the testimonials and biographies of living veterans are allowed to be preserved in the Library of Congress's Veterans History Project. The legislation we passed today will allow the families of our men and women in the military who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country to participate in the program. This will ensure that their loved ones' memories will live on in the minds and hearts of Americans for generations to come. It's a tangible way we can thank them for their service and fulfill our pledge to never forget them. -###- Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
