Scheduled to open in August 2024, the new facility will host grades 9-12 and will support the larger reconfiguration of secondary schooling in Minot. “Local schools are at the center of our communities, helping our state and nation meet the needs of tomorrow, while strengthening the bonds between neighbors and building residents’ sense of identity,” said Hoeven. “Thanks to Superintendent Mark Vollmer and the Minot School Board, led by Jim Rostad, for their hard work in advancing this project, and congratulations on reaching this important milestone. This new high school is the result of Minot’s success and growth, and it will help ensure that the great teachers in Minot can continue effectively serving families and students for years to come. We look forward to welcoming the Minot North Sentinels to the community.” In addition, Hoeven stressed the importance of preparing students to pursue careers in industries that will be critical to the future of the state and nation’s economy. To this end, the senator is working to expand access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, including by: Supporting the Student Support and Academic Enrichment program, which can be used by school districts to build greater capacity for STEM education.
