The grant provides $1,262,300 specifically to renovate and reconfigure the road network to increase the number of campsites as well as for installation of camper pads, water and 50-amp utilities at Sully Creek State Park. “The National Park Service’s funding will support efforts to ensure North Dakota’s parks, including Sully Creek State Park, have the facilities needed to deliver an improved camping experience for locals and visitors, ensuring they are able to fully take advantage of the abundant attractions our state offers,” said Hoeven. The LWCF was established by Congress in 1964 and supports federal and state investment in conservation of natural areas, water resources and outdoor recreation. The primary source of revenue for the Land and Water Conservation Fund is from federal oil and gas leases on the Outer Continental Shelf.
