The Texas Court ruled that without the individual mandate, the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional. This is the first step in what will be a lengthy legal process that could go all the way to the Supreme Court. As such, the law is not changed until the Supreme Court rules. Costs have more than doubled under Obamacare, with families facing increased premiums and higher deductibles, as well as limited health insurance options in many regions of the country, including North Dakota. We need to replace Obamacare with patient-centered health care that provides greater choice and competition to lower costs.
