Among other priorities, the senator: Stressed the importance of ensuring timely mail delivery service, including in the lead up to the holiday season and in preparation for winter weather. Urged USPS to promptly work through the backlog of repairs for cluster box unit (CBU) mailboxes, including in Minot. Hoeven also addressed the need to make the Minot post office more accessible, particularly during the winter. Discussed upcoming job fairs in North Dakota to help resolve understaffing. Job fairs are being held on Thursday, November 30 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at USPS facilities in the following communities: Williston, Mandan, Dickinson, Bismarck, Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Fargo and Fargo-Prairiewood. “We need to do all we can to ensure that North Dakotans are receiving their mail on time, as my office continues to hear from local residents about delays and other service issues,” said Hoeven. “Importantly, we discussed with USPS District Manager Bye the need to repair CBU mailboxes in Minot and other communities, so residents aren’t forced to wait in line at the post office just to collect their mail.
