Senator John Hoeven today joined Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney, Governor Doug Burgum and representatives from private industry groups in outlining Project Force, the new Amazon fulfillment center under development in north Fargo. Hoeven worked with the city to advance the project, having worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to get the permit approved in a timely manner to ensure construction could move forward without delay. The 1.3 million square foot facility is expected to open in 2021. The senator stressed the importance of the state's pro-business environment in attracting investments like the new fulfillment center. To this end, Hoeven has worked since his time as governor to provide tax and regulatory relief that empowers economic growth and continues to advance these same priorities in the U.S. Senate. This is a welcome investment in Fargo and the surrounding communities, bringing more than 500 new, full-time jobs to the region, said Senator Hoeven. That's why we worked with the City of Fargo and the Army Corps to secure the permit needed to construct the building on this property. Developments like this continue our state's record of growth due to the business-friendly environment we've worked to build.
