During his visit, Husted toured Cleveland Clinic’s new biomedical research building located within the Cleveland Innovation District, where researchers and medical professionals are developing new technologies and treatments that improve patient care. The visit builds on Husted’s work to increase access to affordable health care by expanding the availability of over-the-counter medications. Earlier this year, Husted’s bipartisan SMART OTC Act was signed into law, making it easier for families to access more affordable over-the-counter medicines. Following the tour, Husted hosted a roundtable discussion with workers from across Northeast Ohio to hear directly about the challenges facing working families. Husted highlighted the tax relief included in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act (WFTCA), which delivers meaningful savings to workers, seniors, parents and small businesses.
