Earlier this week, the Senate unanimously passed S.Res.325, introduced by Isakson and Blumenthal, to permit the collection of charitable donations in Senate buildings during the holiday season. Our hope is to put a smile on the faces of as many children in Georgia, Connecticut and around the country as possible during the holidays this year, said Isakson and Blumenthal. Were proud to announce that our committee will be joining with the United States Marine Corps Reserve to do just that. We encourage all who are able to join us and donate toys to this worthy cause. Toys for Tots is an annual program conducted by the United States Marine Corps Reserve to collect toys for needy children. The committee will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys in drop-off boxes until December 10, 2015, when Marines will collect the donations. Donation boxes are located in participating Senate offices and outside the committees hearing room, 418 Russell Senate Office Building. ### The Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs is chaired by U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., in the 114th Congress. Isakson is a veteran himself having served in the Georgia Air National Guard from 1966-1972 and has been a member of the Senate VA Committee since he joined the Senate in 2005. Isaksons home state of Georgia is home to more than a dozen military installations representing each branch of the military as well as more than 750,000 veterans. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
