RetireSafe has selected Isakson as a recipient of its “Standing up for America’s Seniors” award based on his various actions that benefit seniors, including committee activity, floor votes, communications with regulatory authorities and sponsorship or co-sponsorship of senior-friendly legislation. Through his position on the Senate Committee on Finance with jurisdiction over Medicare and Social Security, Isakson has worked to protect Medicare beneficiaries from dangerous rule changes proposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
