Today marks the first day of the ACA's 2020 Open Enrollment period, which will run only six weeks and end on December 15th. To sign up for coverage in 2020 during the Open Enrollment period, log on to http://www.healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596 for more information before December 15, 2019. Maine people interested in additional information can also visit coverME.gov, or make a confidential and toll-free call to Consumers for Affordable Health Care at 1-800-965-7476. Today is the first day Maine people can enroll in healthcare for 2020 through the Affordable Care Act and with only six weeks to sign up, there's no time to waste, said Senator King. Insurance is complicated, and starting your search today will allow you to find the right plan that fits your medical needs and budget. Securing insurance coverage is too important to slip through the cracks sign up today, and make sure you and your family enter this new year with insurance coverage that keeps you healthy both physical and financially. Senator King is a vocal proponent of efforts to protect and improve the Affordable Care Act, which has helped millions of Americans access healthcare. In May, he announced his support for a Senate resolution rejecting the Department of Justice's (DOJ)decisionto uphold a Texas Federal Judge'srulingthat deems the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional. In July 2018, Senator King joined a group of his colleagues to introduce a resolution that would haveauthorized the Senate Legal Counsel to interveneinTexas v. United States, and in December 2018 he joined a group of Senate colleagues to call on President Trump tocondemnthe resulting decision in the case.
