Senator King held an open house to welcome local leaders and members of the community to his new office, which is located in the Margaret Chase Smith Federal Building, and will serve as a resource for Mainers throughout the area who are seeking assistance with the federal government or who wish to be in touch with Senator King. “One of my most important responsibilities is helping people across Maine in their interactions with the federal government,” Senator King said. “I hope this office will serve as another resource in that effort, and I also hope it will play a beneficial role in supporting our ongoing work to strengthen the forest products economy here, in the Katahdin Region, and across the state.” The office, which has been in operation since July, is open full time and is staffed by Regional Representative Edie Smith and Constituent Service Representative Megan Stewart. In addition to the Bangor location, Senator King also has offices located in Presque Isle, Augusta, and Scarborough, and his staff frequently conducts community outreach hours across the state through his “Your Government, Your Neighborhood” initiative.
