Markey (D-MA) and 14 other senators, announced a plan to introduce a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution that would undo yesterdays action by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and restore the 2015 net neutrality rules. On Thursday, the FCC approved an item to eliminate protections that prevented internet service providers from setting up internet fast and slow lanes and ensured they could not block, slow down or prioritize internet traffic. As a strong supporter of a free and open internet, I was extremely disappointed in the Federal Communications Commissions vote to eliminate net neutrality rulesa vote that will harm our rural communities, consumers, and small businesses, Klobuchar said. We must continue the fight to preserve net neutrality protections. With this action, Congress can push back on the Federal Communications Commissions decision to repeal protections that keep the internet free and open. A copy of the CRA can be found HERE.
