The legislation expands the tools available to the Export-Import Bank (EXIM) to support domestic manufacturing projects in critical industries, including advanced manufacturing, energy technologies, semiconductors, shipbuilding, robotics, and other sectors important to U.S. economic competitiveness and national security. “America should make more of the products we rely on right here at home,” Klobuchar said. “This bill will help strengthen domestic U.S. manufacturing, secure critical supply chains, and create good-paying jobs. It will also help support industries that depend on Minnesota iron ore and steel production, helping strengthen the economic foundation of the Iron Range while also helping the United States compete with countries like China.” The Make More in America Act would build on EXIM’s existing Make More in America Initiative by expanding financing tools available for domestic manufacturing projects and encouraging investment in industries critical to America's long-term economic competitiveness. The bill includes provisions to support workforce training, encourage investment in economically distressed communities, protect taxpayers, and promote the development of domestic supply chains. The AFL-CIO, Employ America, Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM Union), and United Steelworkers have all endorsed the Make More In America Act. ### 1 2026-07-01T06:34:07Z 2026-07-01T06:35:35Z
